Collection and Return
Vehicles are available for collection Monday to Sunday. Hiring’s start and finish at the collection location.
Collection time: 3pm
Return time: 11am
The return of the vehicle is confirmed in writing, signed by the hirer and Sunny Motorhome Hire Ltd. Collection and return days are charged as per day.
We need to show you exactly how to get the most out of your motorhome and this may take some time. It is essential that the hirer should be given a thorough introduction to the rental vehicle by us before the journey begins. Please allow up to 1 hour for your handover.
Since the times for collecting and returning motorhomes are carefully planned, please return your motorhome on time. A penalty of £50 per hour is payable for time between expiry of the rent agreement and the return of your vehicle. Should the late return of the vehicle make us liable for extra costs (e.g. compensation for the next hirer), we reserve the right to pass on these costs to you.
The times and dates of the contract of hire must be strictly adhered to.
No refund will be given for early return of your vehicle.
No one other than the drivers named on the insurance proposal form may drive the hired vehicle.
Drivers must be over 21 and under 79 years of age and have held a full driving license for at least 2 years. The license must be a photo card license. Drivers under 25 and over 70 will incur an additional insurance premium charge, which may be refused by our insurer.
The drivers licence must be unendorsed (except for speeding and parking offences) and must be produced at the time of collecting the vehicle. Visitors from abroad must hold a current international driving permit or license (Foreign license holders will incur an additional insurance premium charge and a security bond payment is required). Any current endorsements (within 3 years) may incur an additional insurance premium charge.
Two additional forms of identity must be produced by all drivers at the start of the hire: one utility bill, bank statement, no older than 3 months. These can be prints from online accounts.
Please note: the drivers address has to match on both license and proof of addresses. If the addresses do not match this will invalidate the insurance, therefore not allowing the hire to commence.
Fully Comprehensive insurance is included within the hire charge. Hirers are advised to take out additional personal holiday insurance.
A £1000 excess payable by the hirer is applied to all insurance claims. We reserve the right to obtain a pre-approval of any amount up to the insurance excess against the drivers’ or hirers’ credit card. Visitors from overseas must pay a security bond prior to collection of the vehicle. The security bond is usually refunded 28 days after the vehicle has been returned in a satisfactory condition.
The hirer may travel in any European countries. However, if the hirer fails to inform us beforehand they will loose the deposit in full.
Travel in countries outside Europe is only possible after prior agreement with Sunny Motorhome Hire Ltd. Written confirmation from us and an additional insurance premium are required before beginning the journey. The hirer may not travel in war or disaster zones
A £300 non-refundable deposit is payable at time of booking to secure the dates.
The Hire Balance is due, in full 28 days prior to collection of vehicle.
Standard Security Indemnity Deposit of £1000 via Bank Transfer is to be paid 48 hours before collection.
Security Deposits will be refunded within 28 working days of your return date, subject to a satisfactory vehicle inspection. However if quotes need to be obtained for damage or replacement parts caused by the hirer this may take longer. Credit card details will be held for up to 6 months before being destroyed.
In the unlikely event of a breakdown, Sunny Motorhome Hire Ltd requests they are contacted immediately and when advised to do so, the hirer seeks the help of our registered breakdown company only, quoting the registration number of the vehicle. Hirers are authorised to request repairs up to the value of £50. Repairs costing in excess of £50 must first be authorised by us PRIOR to the work being undertaken. Every effort will be made to ensure your vehicle is repaired and back on the road as soon as possible. Should the vehicle be beyond repair on site, the breakdown recovery vehicle will recover both the motorhome and all passengers to their onward journey. Sunny Motorhome Hire Ltd has full UK/ Ireland & Mainland Continental European Breakdown Cover.
The Hirer agrees that they
a) Shall not carry more passengers than the seating capacity of the vehicle or allow the vehicle to be overloaded (3500kg). (6 seats & 6 seatbelts)
b) Shall not have any more occupants sleeping than designed for (i.e. 6) c) Shall not use the vehicle for carrying passengers or goods for hire or reward
d) Will be responsible to Sunny Motorhome Hire Ltd for the cost of making good and damage caused to the vehicle caused by improper use. e) Is responsible for any fines (including parking fines) which may be incurred during the hire period
f) Understands that no claim by the hirer for loss or damage to personal belongings or effects of the hirer or any person or persons will be considered
g) Shall not smoke in the vehicle
h) Understands that any damage to the interior of the vehicle, living or cooking equipment will be charged to the hirer in all circumstances
and is not insurable. Damage to tyres, under carriage, windows and windscreens are also not covered by insurance.
All cancellations must be in writing. All deposits are non-refundable, but may be transferable, at our discretion.
All monies due and received within 6 weeks of the commencement of hire are not refundable.
Sunny Motorhome Hire Ltd reserves the right to cancel hire if, at the commencement of hire, the driver’s licences are invalid or not according to the conditions set out above. In these circumstances the total hire charge will be forfeited. Hirers are strongly advised to insure against unavoidable cancellation.
The hirer is responsible for all costs and expenses incurred as a result of offences against the Road Traffic Act. The hirer is also liable for any uninsurable damages including tyres, windscreen and any internal
damages or breakages. The hirer will indemnify Sunny Motorhome Hire Ltd from any liability.
DART CHARGE is paid automatically and will be charged at £3.50 per journey, on your return.
TOLL CHARGES must be paid in full at time of journey or a fine of £40 each way is applied by the EFLOW Toll company or counterparts in Europe. We will add credit card charges and an admin fee to process. Customers using tolls in the EU and ROI must bring Sunny Motorhome Hire Ltd a receipt of payment of tolls before security deposit is refunded. This is the sole responsibility of the hirer. Failure to provide receipt evidence may result in a portion of the deposit to be held for a further 3 months.
Animals are not permitted in the motorhome.
The hirer may park, free of charge and at his/her own risk, one car at the collection location for the period of the hire.
Cassette Toilet System. The toilet cassette will be empty on collection. The cassette should be returned empty and disposed of responsibly. If the toilet cassette is not empty upon return a £100.00 charge applies.
NOTE: The toilet cassette cannot be emptied at the depot.
Waste Water Tank. The waste tank will be empty upon collection. The waste water tank should be returned empty and disposed of responsibly. If the waste water tank is not returned empty a £50.00 charge applies.
Sunny Motorhome Hire Ltd reserve the right to impose a £50 valet penalty if the vehicle is returned in a condition unsuitable for habitation.
Please return your motorhome in the same condition you collect it.
The motorhome will be full of diesel upon collection- you must return the vehicle with this same amount. If the vehicle is returned short of diesel, time for refuelling & cost of fuel is chargeable
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all our motor homes & if the hirer is suspected to have been smoking in the vehicle, a £250 penalty will be applied.
Hirer authorises that their credit card may be charged for penalties, parking and driving offences and the insurance excess payable.
We also reserve the right to charge for loss of hire due to repairs caused during your hire @ £150.00 per day, to be taken from the deposit. Please also note if we have to obtain quotes for damage caused to the vehicle during your hire period, your security deposit refund may be delayed.
Sunny Motorhome Hire Ltd reserve the right to vary the rates and conditions of hire at any time and to decline hire to any person at any time without reason.
